Travel NYC - BIG APPLE PIE

Travel NYC – BIG APPLE PIE

It’s not breaking news that New York City is the most diverse place on earth. The borough of Queens has actually been named “The most diverse place on earth.” by The Guiness Book of World Records. And, that’s how “Travel NYC” was born.

Your host, Radu Polizu, grew up in Romania during Nicolai Ceaușescu’s regime. But under communism, Radu was not permitted to leave the country, which became an obstacle in the way of his desire to see the world.

However, in the 1980’s, Radu would take advantage of a work-related trip to Germany and defect! Eventually, becoming a naturalized US Citizen, which is how our story gets to Queens. Now an American, Radu sets out to explore the culture, meet the people, and travel the ethnic neighborhoods of NYC representing the 60+ countries he’s traveled around the world. Comparing notes with other immigrants, and speaking, in so many ways through their shared stories, about what it means to be American!
